Saturday was the Stake Prom, otherwise known as...
The Biggest Event of the Year!
I'd say that the majority of the LDS kids here don't go to their High School proms
so this one is pretty much IT for most of them.
They talk about it and look forward to it for months.
The girls in the ward all get together early in the day to do hair and make-up
and then the boys show up at the appointed time to pick them up
and pose for LOTS of pictures.
Like this one...
(No, Collin didn't take me as his date, but he did let me get in a picture with him -- he's always nice to his mom :)
Here is Collin walking down the driveway on his way to meet up with his date, Jordan.
Does this scene remind you of Napoleon Dynamite on the way to pick up his prom date?
Because Collin was playing that music on his iPhone at this particular moment.
He's always in the moment, that boy.
Here he is getting a little assistance with the flower pinning from Jordan's dad.
Collin and Jordan -- two of the nicest kids I know
and a WHOLE BUNCH of Mormon prom goers
(with a few extras as well)
Collin and the other three 16 year old Young Men from our ward.
All in all, I'd say they had a really great time
and that the Prom lived up to ALL their expectations
and that was before they even got to the dance!

What great pictures and what a good looking couple. That Collin is a real sharp looker and cleans up real well. That is a great idea that the Stake sponsers such a wonderful wholesome activity. The Church must be true... especially in Massachusetts. We were saying that Jordan could pass as a Russell with that red hair and cute looks. She is a real looker and the make a good looking couple. As to your neighbor it's a good thing that you were home and had taken signing lessons. I'll bet he was in a panick. What a scary situation for him. Bless you for being there.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work in the neighborhood.
What a fine looking group of Prom-goers!!! And by the way...just read your chinese post..yikes! Way to decipher the sign language.
